ANNOUNCEMENT


The International Conference of the Academy of Business Administration will be held at the Intercontinental Praha in Prague, Czech Republic. Sessions will consist of the presentation of papers that have been accepted following a blind review process. Please share this announcement with your colleagues. We hope to see you in Prague.

Some papers presented at the conference will be considered for the Journal of the Academy of Business Administration. Complete papers presented at the conference and adhering to all publication criteria as judged by the editor will appear in the 2005 Readings Book to be published after the conference.

Paper reviewers and session chairpersons will be needed for a successful program. Please contact the appropriate track chairperson to indicate your interest. All program participants must register for the conference.


GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS & INFORMATION

  1. Please submit four typed, double-spaced copies of your paper to the appropriate track chair. The paper should be a maximum of twenty pages including appendices, references, figures and tables. Abstracts and Research in Progress should be sent to the program chair, Dr. David L. Moore. If accepted, Abstracts and Research in Progress will be for presentation only.
  2. Each submission should include a cover letter, self-addressed stamped postcard and a 3x5 index card with the paper's title and the name, address and telephone number of the contact person for the paper (Submission Deadline is May 15, 2005) However, papers submitted earlier will be reviewed immediately and participants will be notified as soon as possible. Contact the track chair if you wish to submit your paper electronically.
  3. Papers will be reviewed using a blind evaluation process. Author(s) names should appear only on the title page. Authors should refrain from identifying themselves elsewhere in the paper.
  4. The submission of a paper for review indicates that it or a similar version of it has not been previously published, accepted for publication, or under publication consideration elsewhere, and that the paper will not be submitted elsewhere until such time as it is rejected from the conference. Further, the author(s) certifies that (s)he or at least one co-author agrees that if the paper is accepted (s)he (1) will return camera-ready laser printed copy of the paper to the "Readings Book" editor for publication, (2) submit a 3 ½ inch floppy disk using WordPerfect (DOS or Windows) or Microsoft Word and (3) that (s)he or at least one of the co-authors will register upon of notification of acceptance and present the paper at the conference.
  5. Each accepted paper must have a separate registered author. For this conference the maximum submission for sole authorship is one paper and for joint authorship, two papers. The maximum length for publications in the “Readings Book” is 8 single-spaced pages. There will be a $30 charge for each published page beyond the specified limit.
  6. Please send your paper to the appropriate Track Chair. Authors who are uncertain regarding the track to which their paper should be submitted should send their papers to the Program Chair, Dr. Sam Fullerton.
  7. The ABA reserves the right to modify information included in this call for papers including but not limited to dates, location of conference, hotel, and hotel rates.
  8. Special Sessions & Deans' Sessions - Special sessions, deans sessions, workshops, and seminars may be scheduled. Potential topics include AACSB issues, incentives for publication, and tenure-related issues. Proposals for any of these or other sessions should be sent to, Dr. David L. Moore, Program Chair.
  9. Paper Awards: Best Paper Awards may be presented in the following areas: Theoretical/Conceptual, Application/Empirical, and Interdisciplinary (Theory or Application).
  10. Registration: Registration is $378 (U.S.). Early registration paid by June 1, 2004, will qualify for the lower rate of $328. Registration includes all conference activities and a copy of the Readings Book. Spouse/Companion Activities Fee: The Activities fee is $148. This fee will include all the conference activities with the exception of the Readings Book. Spouses/Companions who are participating in the program do not qualify for this fee.
  11. Participants (and their companions) whose papers are not accepted will be entitled to a full refund. Authors should register within ten days of receiving notice of acceptance to insure inclusion in the Readings Book.
  12. Accepted papers: must be sent to the Readings Book editor by September 30, 2005, in order to be published. This is intended to give authors time to review comments and to incorporate changes into the final manuscript. Even if you make no changes, a new camera-ready submission is required. Papers which are not presented, which are not consistent with the manuscript guidelines, or where the author has not registered in accordance with maximum submission guidelines (see instruction 5) will not be published.
  13. Hotel Information: The conference will be held at the Intercontinental Praha in Prague, Czech Republic. The room rate is 130 Euros per night, single or double occupancy including full buffet breakfast, service charges, applicable taxes and free entry to the indoor swimming pool and sauna.  Rates are exclusive of VAT (Current rate 5%).  A hotel registration form is available on line at www.lemoyne.edu/ABA  A block of rooms at the conference rate will be held no later than June 15, 2005; it is essential that you mention the ABA to get the conference rate.
